The School of Media and Cultural Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, supported by the MurthyNAYAK Foundation, is organizing the 11th Cut.In Students’ Film Festival.
This national level festival aims to encourage talent among students, not only from media institutes and colleges but also from other disciplines. The festival seeks to address a felt need for a platform where student work can be showcased.
Students from diploma, graduate and postgraduate programmes are invited to participate and submit entries in any one of the following categories:
1) Short Fiction
Films produced after September 2017 and made while the filmmakers were bonafide students of an educational institution are eligible for submission. Films that have previously been screened at the festival are not eligible for entry.
Two prizes will be given in each category. The prize consists of a trophy and a citation for best fiction and best documentaries. In addition, there are prizes for Best Cinematography, Editing and Sound Design.
The deadline for submission of entries has been extended to 10th September 2019. The shortlisted films will be announced on the blog, Instagram and Facebook page by the end of October. The selected filmmakers will also receive an email confirmation of selection.
We at the Cut.In Students’ Film Festival with support from the MurthyNAYAK Foundation will be glad to provide hospitality and travel expenses for one filmmaker per selected film.
